Size Advice

To ensure your child feels completely comfortable, we show you how to determine the right finkid size. To find the perfect size, measure your child and compare the values with our size chart.
If your child is at the upper end of a size, it's better to choose the next larger one – especially for clothing that is meant to fit over several seasons. This way, you can quickly and easily find the right size!

BUDDY school backpacks

Goal of the correct fit

  • The school backpack should lie flat against the entire back, end roughly at shoulder height, and sit above the hips.
  • The weight should ideally be distributed evenly (approx. 50/50) between the hips and the back.
  • The size adjustment ranges from XS to XL and fits children with a height of approx. 118 cm to approx. 140 cm.

STEP-BY-STEP
INSTRUCTIONS

1) Adjust the shoulder straps

  • Position the back pad centered over the shoulder blades.
  • Tighten the straps so they sit close to the body without constricting.

2) Velcro straps and center back

  • Loosen the Velcro strap, adjust the straps to match the back length, then close them.
  • To secure the fit, pull the Velcro strap through two loops.
  • The school backpack should now lie flat against the entire back.

3) Position the chest strap

  • Position the chest strap approx. 5 cm below shoulder height.
  • Fasten the strap across the chest.

4) Adjust the hip belt

  • Fasten the hip belt so that most of the weight is shifted onto the hips.
  • The front should fit snugly but not be tight or pressing.

5) Test mobility

  • Walking, light running, hopping: The backpack should stay stable, and range of motion is maintained.

6) Safety check

  • The connecting straps between the shoulder straps should be taut but not constricting.
  • The shoulder straps should stay in place even during movement.

Important notes

  • The ideal fit depends on individual body characteristics.
  • If the child grows or the back length changes, readjust accordingly.
